Awards and Orders

The Baron and Baroness hold the exclusive right to confer Baronial Awards and Orders. It is the greatest joy of the Coronets to recognize the good works and excellent achievements of the members of the Barony. Members of the populace are encouraged to give their recommendations for these Awards and Orders to the Baron and Baroness, for we rely on your watchful eyes to see all the good works of your friends and draw them to our attention so that we may thank them properly.

Awards given for service:

Order of the Golden Oak:

This award is the first level service award of the Barony. It is usually given by recommendation to the Baron and Baroness and is to reward those that have contributed to the betterment of the Barony through Service to the Barony.



Order of the Golden Osprey:

This award is a second level service award, usually given by recommendation to the Baron and Baroness to those that have shown continuous commitment and dedicated service directly to the Barony. It is intended for someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to the Barony, particularly someone who has given service for many years.


Awards given for excellence in the arts:

Order of the Golden Acorn

The Golden Acorn is the first level Arts & Sciences award of the Barony. It is usually given by recommendation to the Baron and Baroness to those that have shown excellence in the Arts and Sciences that has helped to enrich the Barony, particularly for someone who is willing to teach others, or has contributed works to or for the Barony.


Order of the Black Sleeve

2nd level A & S for persons showing long term extraordinary excellence for Arts or Sciences by displaying for, contributing to or teaching the Arts in the Barony and its lands

Blazon: fieldless, a maunch sable, holding a hammer argent in pale


Order of the Golden Lute

First level award given for excellence in the Bardic and Performing arts.


Martial awards:

Order of the Spear D'Argent

1st level Fighting award given to those that have shown a commitment to heavy armored fighting through participation, volunteering, etc. Fighter's receiving the Spear D'Argent will have shown proficiency in the art of heavy armored combat.


Order of the Spear D'Oro

2nd level Fighting are given to those that have shown a continuing commitment to heavy armored fighting through participation, volunteering, etc. Fighter's receiving the Spear D'Argent will have shown an above average proficiency in the art of heavy armored combat to the level of instructing newer fighters.


Order of the Blue Glove

1st level Rapier award given to those that have shown a commitment to rapier fighting through participation, volunteering, etc. Fighter's receiving the Order of the Blue Glove will have show proficiency in the art of rapier combat.

Order of the Silver Quiver

Award for those persons showing excellence in target or war bowed


Youth and children's awards:

The Sable Sea Lion


First level Youth (under 16) award for excellence and participation within the SCA.

Order of the Gold Griffon

Second level children's award given for active participation in Baronial activities, volunteering, learning new skills and exhibiting courtly graces.

Several new awards are currently in submission with the College of Heralds and will be included here once they have passed.
